Anantara Vacation Club turned 15 in 2025, so we’ve been celebrating in many ways, all year long. Here, we’re highlighting 15 of the many ways to enjoy Mai Khao Phuket, home to our flagship Club Resort.
Mai Khao is the northernmost area of Phuket, filled with undiscovered charms. Combined with the many activities and diversions available at Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket, no two visits to our little slice of paradise will ever be the same, giving you a fresh experience every time.
And now, in no particular order, let’s have some fun:
Mai Khao boasts Phuket’s longest beach, but there are other natural delights just a little inland. Borrow one of the resort’s bikes and grab a map to find your way to Pru Jeh Son Lake. The breezy green trail is relatively flat and about 5 km there and back, so this is also suitable for a walk or jog. (If you would like some company, check the resort schedule for this activity.)
Phuket International Airport’s runway faces the Andaman Sea, so take-offs and landings are dramatic sights. This is especially true from the viewpoint on Mai Khao Beach. The resort has scheduled outings in the morning, but you can also make your own way there. At 15 km roundtrip, you could bike there or hire a taxi.

Mai Khao is lush, so why not enjoy the fresh air as you work out? Walk or jog around Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao’s walkways and get your reps in at the outdoor fitness equipment stations. Ask the recreation team for a map or explore the grounds, stopping at the elliptical, torso twisters, and more.
Thai cuisine is famous, and we’re sure you’ll eat your fill during your visit. So, why not take some cooking skills back with you? Our Spice Spoons classes will show you how to make your choice of dishes, from selecting ingredients to plating. Then you can enjoy your culinary creation. And if you are a Club Points Owner, you’ll receive a discount on the class fees.
If you prefer a more leisurely walk around the resort, add a little fun with some hide-and-seek. Well, we’ve hidden cats in our murals for you to seek out! There are seven cats, each peeking out of one of seven murals. The murals also depict iconic Phuket moments and are camera ready for you to take a snap or two, too.

Our pickleball court is a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time. The court is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re new to the sport, there are group lessons on the weekly schedule, as well as a tournament. For a fee, we can also arrange private lessons or a knocker.
At around 11-km long, Mai Khao is ideal for beachcombing, swimming, and other seaside activities. But one thing that is unique to this stretch is its restorative properties. Local lore claims that the sands are rich in minerals that aid in healing and detox. You can bury your feet for a little relief, and if you want to go in for a full body sand soak, don’t forget sunscreen and water.
While we would love for you to dine at our resort for every meal, we also highly recommend making your way to one of the many seaside restaurants just down the beach. Enjoy freshly caught seafood, local Thai favourites, and more as you dine al fresco to the sounds of the waves.
Sunsets from SEVEN at Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao is an experience we highly recommend. From the 7th Floor, you can sip your favourite beverage or try one of the creative concoctions on the menu, and watch day turn into evening with panoramic views of Mai Khao and the Andaman Sea.

Is it raining out? Feeling a little lazy? Want to play a game? The resort team has a collection of board games suitable for all ages. From checkers and backgammon to Monopoly and UNO, just check out what is available at either the Kids’ Club by the pool or Guest Lounge at the Lobby.
About 8 km north of Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao is Sarasin Bridge, connecting the island to the mainland. And if you venture out to the middle of its pedestrian walkways, you’ll get some spectacular views out onto the Andaman. You can also explore the local fishing village or grab a snack or drink and watch life along the waters go by.

One of the many joys of Anantara Vacation Club Resorts is that we strive to make everyone feel at home. At our Mai Khao resort, this means fully equipped kitchens in all our suites and villas. So, you don’t have to eat out every meal unless you want to. You can also pick up groceries at the nearby Turtle Market and have a cosy night in.
All the world may be a stage, but our swimming pool is a movie theatre three nights a week. Every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, we light up the big screen with a family-friendly film that you can enjoy as you float in the pool, lounge poolside, or dine at Taurus. Check out the schedule by the Kids’ Club to see what’s on.

The Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary is not just for the dogs. There are cats too. And it is about five-minute drive from the resort to this haven for abandoned pets and strays (or you can make it a treat after a 10-km bike ride). Tours are free and in English and Thai. Afterwards, you can check out the adorable fun of the puppy run or cattery.
Last, but not least, at least for this list, is take some time out by the pool, because sometimes doing nothing is exactly the right thing to do. We’ve got towels, loungers, umbrellas, and chilled water to get you started. Bring a book, soak in some vitamin D, and enjoy the island vibes of Mai Khao, Phuket.
We could go on, but we would much rather welcome you and be a part of your Mai Khao experience. Club Points Owners can book stays now or contact Club Services to find out more. Not a Points Owner and want to learn about Anantara Vacation Club? Please get in touch!
